He is also set to develop online content, retail concepts, and campaigns across Europe over the course of the year.

Building on Diet Cokes collaborations with the fashion industries elite, Gaultier is sure to hit the top as this is the first time a fashion designer is going to have an input in to so many aspects of the brand. The new campaign themed "Night & Day" is set to run throughout Europe over the course of the year and pays homage to many of Gauilter's famous collections.

When asked about his new role as Creative Director, Gaultier said “The brand asked me to explore its fun personality and to style the bottle. I want to show people the codes and signatures I love. The bottles have the shape of a woman’s body, so it was great fun to ‘dress’ them. The Diet Coke motif is so beautiful I had to design around this. The finishing touch was to apply my logo to the bottle, like applying a fragile stamp – making it something special you want to touch”.

JOYRICH

So, I've decided I'm not going to bed until I get a post wrote up about this amazing brand, Joyrich! I came across the brand today after scouring the net in search for a leopard print shirt (which I still haven't found..). The "casual-rich" streetwear brand was established in 2007 in the heart of LA by founder Tom Hirota, since then the brand has gone from strength-to-strength establishing a very unique style along the way as well as some stylish celebrity followers which include Jessie J, Rihanna and Justin Bieber to name but a few.. The brand hosts three years of colourful pop-textured collections ranging from a collaboration with GIZA which brought bright multi-coloured childish patterns to cloth creating a fabulous unique collection for S/S 2011. The brand re-collaborated for S/S 2012 bringing yet again another outstanding colourful collection but instead with more detailed mature patterns. "Wonderland" is said to be the inspiration for their latest collection for S/S 2012, "Citrus Rush," which is filled with overflowing bright vivid colours, nostalgic prints, bold stripes, and witty pop-inspired patterns, just what you'd expect from a fantastic brand like Joyrich. Some of the gear have quite a lavish price tag but for nifty pieces like these it's sure worth every penny! if you're not in LA, then you can get hold of some of their stuff online... that's if you can find a website that's not in Japanese whilst the official Joyrich store is under construction.

http://joyrich.com/

Thom Browne Menswear F/W 2012

I'm no encyclopedia when it comes to fashion, and certainly not when it comes down to designers.
I'm familiar with major brands such as Versace, Dolce & Gabanna, Louis Vuitton etc.. but that's as far as it goes, and I'm not afraid to admit it. I love fashion but I'm no fashion genius. I'm a big fan of fashion week because not only am I curious about what's to come "trend-wise" in the coming season but I find that a lot of the colours, patterns and textures designers use in their collections have some influence in my photography, even the style of a show or overall look of a certain collection can inspire an idea not only throughout my work but my personal style too.

I came across Thom Browne earlier whilst on I-D online and was fascinated by his recent menswear collection that he debuted in Paris on Sunday. Inflated shoulders and padded butt-cheeks along with spiked gimp masks and trousers cut above the ankles gave the collection and eerie feel, not to mention the show being set in a morbid classroom (which looked more like an asylum) in Paris's most wonderful Galérie de Minéralogie et de Géologie. The collection brought together American jocks with 70's punk style in an array of green faced uncle festers. Thom also added some animal patterns, lengthy skirts and outfits in bright pastels which gave a softer tone to the overall collection whilst still retaining a dominant feeling to the clothing.

Versace Menswear F/W 2012

Fashion week is back in full swing once again and kicked off with Milan menswear on Saturday which welcomed some of the worlds biggest fashion houses back on to the catwalk once again to debut their brand new collections for F/W 2012.
Now that Milan menswear has come to an end one of the collections that stood out for me the most was of course the amazing Versace. Donatella never seems to lack in creativity and this season she has gone and took a chunk of the golden era, the 90's that is of course, and combined it with military inspired uniforms giving combat a new name with camouflage prints in bright camp colours, teamed with blazers, bomber jackets, and leather with shearling collars. She also added double-denim topped with heavy gold dripping chains to give the collection an extra bit of 90's feel after opening with tailored navy pin-striped ensembles to tone things down a tad.

What are your thoughts on the collection?

Kelly Mittendorf

Another one of Premier's new faces has sparked my interest yet again!

Kelly Mittendorf was spotted by a scout at the age of 11 from her mother agency in Scottsdale where she is from in Arizona whilst swimming in her local pool. She soon got signed by Photogenics in LA and Marilyn mgmt in New York.

Since starting out in the modelling industry just over a year ago she has already done a campaign for Prada and an editorial for Vogue Italia and Japan, not to mention walking the catwalk for designers such as Marc Jacobs, Anna Sui and Topshop Unique, as well as being photographed by Terry Richardson for V magazine. This girl is off to a great start and I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot of her this season after been scooped up by Premier in London.

Her unique look has instantly made her one of my favourites.

A cringey "end of year" post

2011 has come to an end and looking back on the year I've had a complete life change. The past year has been a huge step for me. After walking down the runway in women's apparel for John Paul Gaultier and Jeremy Scott as well as being pictured in campaigns for the likes of Marc Jacobs he is definitely climbing the leader board in the modelling industry, but is he everyone's cup of tea? Andrej is signed worldwide from Storm in London to Bravo models in Tokyo after been discovered by his mother agency, Chadwick models, on a street in Melbourne, Australia.
In a latest campaign for the Dutch retail chain "Hema" the Bosnian-born, Australian raised model flaunts a "mega push-up bra" that promises to add "two cup sizes." The campaign was released on Tuesday and instantly became a trending topic on Twitter in the Netherlands with the overall reaction being positive and the campaign going down a storm.
he's not a camp guy, or a man in drag. He's to me, a person that embraces both being male and female. I asked Leanne some questions about herself, her style, and most importantly.. her successful blog!
Check out the interview below.

Hi Leanne. How're you?
I'm good thank you.

Is there anything in the pipeline at the moment for your blog? What's the future for ''THUNDER & THREADS?''
I have a good few ideas under my belt at the mo, but I'm just taking things slow for the time being! I really want to branch ''THUNDER + THREADS'' out, I'm not a one-trick pony when it comes to fashion - I want to make my blog even bigger, my youtube bigger, someday design my own clothing line and then hopefully start my own glossy mag! I recently just redesigned my whole blog's look, so that definitely spiced things up a bit!

You wrote about your love for many collections this show season on your blog, but If you had to choose one what collection from the S/S 2012 shows would you choose as your most favourite?

Definitely Prabal Gurung's collection, he's definitely one to watch! His designs are so modern, yet incorporate classic and retro elements. He's one-step ahead of most of the designers these days, and I predict bigggg things for him!

Are there any fashion websites you swear by?
Style.com is always great for fashion week coverage, but to be honest blogs are my biggest fashion source - whether it's information, reviews or just inspiration. I'm mostly inspired by street-style blogs, especially the Japanese ones - those girls have got such badass style!

Who inspires you the most at the moment?
Lady Gaga always inspires me, she's so creative and fresh.

What is your biggest achievement to date?
Definitely having a photoshoot with the photographer David Mushegain! I'm sure you'll agree Conor, haha. It was such a surreal experience, to be in the company of someone so "known" in the fashion industry.. he discovered Charlotte Free like! Amazing..

What's your favourite magazine?
This time last year, I would of answered ELLE - but it's seriously become horrendous this year. I've only enjoyed reading 2 issues out of the 12 this year, it lacks good reading and I find myself thinking ''God, I've wasted €6 on nothing!" when I'm finished. So right now, by favourite magazine would be Vogue Italia. Their editorials are always spectacular!

Describe your typical Friday night.
It's either going out with my friends to a club, and dancing to my heart's content or I'd be wrapped up in my duvet, surfing the web and watching movies! I love going out partying, but relaxing "me" days are just as nice.

Where do you see yourself in 20 years time?
I'll be 38 - ew! Hopefully I'll have my dream glossy magazine set up and running (successfully!) by then, maybe a few kids and a husband who resembles Johnny Depp. One can dream..

What's the one thing you can't leave the house without?
My iPod. I nearly develop panic-attacks when I forget to bring it with me. Music is my life!

If you got the opportunity to be anyone but yourself, who would you be?
Probably Alexa Chung, which is quite a random answer for me to give. I think she's just achieved so much in life, has never received any horrendous bad press and has just conquered the fashion world! She's a big inspiration.

Check out Leannes blog ''THUNDER & THREADS'' here and why not become a fan on Facebook too!

Gaga's Workshop

Barneys New York are working closely with the amazing Lady Gaga under the creative direction of Nicola Formichetti to create ''Gaga's workshop.''
The workshop will entail of a range of exclusive, special edition Gaga items that will be available for a limited time only online and in Gaga's workshop in Barneys New York. Ms Donatella Versace describes the collaboration as a collection of pieces that have made the house of Versace legendary. The collection consists of 40 womens garments and 20 for the men ranging from £19.99 to £199.99. Without a doubt it's true to say that the majority of top designers this season brought their collection to the Parisian runway. So I thought.... fuck it, lets just focus on Paris!

Last week, Ellie Saab rounded up a month of spectacular S/S 2012 shows with a bunch of solid, bright and sparkling colours in her brand new collection at Paris fashion week. Unfortunately I doubt I'll ever be lucky enough to attend any of the shows, but I kept up to date everyday through Vogue's show schedule and after show highlights.
Paris really topped the scales for me this season with it's amazing collections from the likes of Lanvin, Mugler, Gareth Pugh, Haider Ackermann, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen and Chanel.
Mugler was one of the first to open Paris fashion week with a collaboration with Lady Gaga which got the not-so-fashionistas eager for a glimpse too. The show opened with a film of Gaga directed by Inez and Vinoodh who recently worked with her for the front cover of the October issue of Harpers Bazaar. The collection wasn't oh-so-spectacular this time around but what really struck me was the make-up for the show, which included sparkling lime green lips and in some cases, eyebrows.
Gaultier stood out for me the most in Paris because of his some-what unusual rockabilly type beauty pagent show that he narrated in English and French whilst the models walked wearing numbers like the 50's . The amazing Karlie Kloss opened the show in a navy pinstripped outfit teamed with white leather heel-less ankle boots teamed with punk/tribal jewellery similar to his S/S show in 94 and hair that weirdly reminded me of star wars. Bright orange's, lime green's and electric blue's brought a bit of colour into the collection before the show closed with 50's pin-up lingerie and black corsets.

Gareth Pugh was another one of my favourites from Paris this season as always. He is one of my favourite designers because of his dark and powerful signature style and this season he really did it justice with his structured cage-like gridded garments and blue metallic cone helmets. Pugh collaborated with Ruth Hogben yet again to release a pre-show fashion film which was just a sample as of what was to come before the show.
Towards the end of Paris fashion week, and to wrap up show season for the year, Chanel and Louis Vuitton went all out with over the top fantasy sets and dramatic, complicated catwalks. Karl Lagerfeld put his heart and soul into the set for Tuesdays Chanel show with his spectacular snow white ''under the sea'' environment which had everyone in awe. Although the show took on quite a strong theme it wasn't taken literal within the collection and the clothes showed some fantastic simplistic pieces in delicate tones. On Wednesday, Marc Jacobs went in the opposite direction to last seasons collection and created a fairytail wonderland for Louis Vuitton's S/S 2012 collection. The show took on an over the top set like the Chanel show, unveiling each and every girl on a fairground carousel with Kate Moss making an appearance at the end of the show in an elegant white dress.

Images: http://www.style.com

Lara Mullen

New face at Premier, Lara Mullen, has been modelling for only 4 weeks after been scouted at a concert in the summer and has hit the industry by storm. But, in reality, I've come to terms that I'd rather be extremely busy than laze around in the sun for a week, that's just me! so what better thing to do than write a blog post when you have a couple hours to spare? It's better than refreshing Facebook hoping for something interesting to pop up anyway!
It's September (a week in), which means it's time to kick off another couple of weeks of fashion madness. Today opened the doors yet again to another New York fashion week debuting the brand new trends for S/S 2012 kicking off with shows by Vena Cava, Steven Alan and Tim Hamilton (umph!). London FW begins with Paul Costelloe next Friday followed by Milan and finally Paris (my favourite!).
Today Dublin went fashion mad to celebrate yet another year of The Dublin Fashion Festival. It runs for 4 days launching with the Vogue Fashion Night Out which took place earlier today in Brown Thomas. The Fashion Festival runs over the weekend with a host of amazing fashion events including catwalk shows, competitions, and great discounts around the city! So, if you just happen to be a budding fashionista/fashionisto then don't miss your chance in coming along to the great events taking place over the weekend (It's also a great way to make you feel better for not being in one of the fashion capitals this month!).
Finally, on a personal note, I'll have some new work up in the next couple of weeks as over the past few days I've been bogged up with those ''not very interesting'' jobs and in all honesty, I'd rather keep my creative cap on and stick to what I enjoy rather than having a full wallet, and that will never change.
Make sure to sign up for the notifications of your favourite shows on the Vogue website , not forgetting ''The Rodnik Band!'' (I wonder what Philip has in store this time around!).

The Rodnik Band

WOAH! Check out this! Philip Colbert, a London fashion designer (originally from Scotland) set up a band/clothing label named the ''The Rodnik Band'' in 2008. The band isn't the best to say the least but the clothing label is a different story altogether! Philip takes fashion to a new level with his outstanding collections inspired by varies artists such as Andy Warholl and Picasso. His collection entitled ''Venus in sequin'' is an art exhibition in itself. Each individual piece in the collection has its very own unique illustration. The urinal dress, inspired by Marcel Duchamp, is by far the most statement piece of the collection. Not to mention the others such as the multi coloured sequin dress ''twin set'' and the ''lobster telephone'' dress, and to make it even more unique each piece in the collection is hand crafted with over 3 weeks of sequin and embroidery work.
The man combines fashion with art, music, and a little bit of humour. What's not to like?

Nicola Formichetti To Launch Clothing Line & Gaga and Terry Richardson to release book

Nicola Formichetti is personally one of my favourite people in the fashion industry. Currently he's the creative directer of Mugler, personal stylist for the amazing Lady Gaga as well as fashion directer for both Vogue Hommes Japan and Uniqlo. He was named one of the "most influential creative forces working in fashion today" back in November 2010 and now the man is on his way to becoming as well-known as Karl Lagerfeld.
In a recent interview with http://milkmade.com/ Formichetti announced that he'll be opening a pop-up store, NICOLA'S, in New York from September 8-21st (colliding with New York fashion week) on 57 Walker St in Tribeca. He mentioned that he'll be stocking ''cool stuff''' from Japan, where Nicola is partially from. Along with stuff from Uniqlo and some young designers as well as creations that he did for both Mugler and Lady Gaga in the past. He then went on to say he'll be launching a clothing line in 2012 and that sneak peaks from that are to be expected in the future. I'm excited to see what Nicola whips up for this project, but is he taking too much on at once?
In other news, one of the worlds controversial photographers, Terry Richardson, is releasing never-before-seen snaps of the superstar that is Lady Gaga in a brand new photo book that is set to be released coming up to the holiday season. Gaga recently talked about the up-coming book with MTV news and mentioned that the book will feature 350 colour and black & white images of the singer that were snapped during the 10 month period that Terry followed Lady Gaga. She mentioned that the photographer had access to her everyday life and that he was with Gaga every minute of the day throughout the 10 months. The book contains shots of Gaga brushing her teeth in the morning, in the bathroom and in the bathtub. She mentioned that she felt so comfortable around the photographer and that he'd shoot almost everything, which included her peeing in a cup of course. I know I'll definitely be pre-ordering!

London Haul

I just got back from England last night after an amazing four days in the capital. Words can't describe how much I love that place! This time around I visited a lot more places and snatched up some pretty sexy bits and bobs.
After getting to know my way around on Thursday, I visited Oxford street and picked up some jewellery in Topman as well as a grungy American flag t-shirt, I also visited Harrods in Knightsbridge but unfortunately all I could afford there was their magazine and a pen.
On Friday I met up with a friend and went to Tate Modern, a modern art museum near South Bank. The art was amazing, but my favourite part was the gift shop. They had a book section for each category of art as well as a pretty cool magazine selection. Afterwards we went to Covent Garden, Oxford St, Regent St and Soho, were I picked up an amazing 90's-ish multi-coloured tee and a cross necklace (and some badges of course) in a shop called Lazy Oaf .
On Saturday I visited Camden town. This place is amazing! While I was there I picked up a black and white Kate Moss t-shirt from the markets that was only £12. I also picked up some fashion mags from a newsagents, Seventh Man and Indie, as well as one or two Camden badges. I also met Paige Richardson, one of the contestants from the X Factor, last year? or the year before? but left just as the road was about to be closed off for Amy Winehouse's death.
Later on that afternoon I got the tube to Bricklane, I think this was my favourite of all places. I popped into SICK on Redchurch St and picked up a BOY London jumper for £40. Pricey, I know, but I've wanted one of these for ages! Before the day came to an end I popped into a gift shop in Picadilly Circus were I bought an I love London tee that I'm thinking of doing a little DIY-ing on.
On Sunday I headed to the science museum before leaving for the airport that afternoon. I picked up a bottle of Bleu De Chanel aftershave in duty free, and some Milka of course. I dreaded coming home but happily I've got some great ideas for shoots in the next couple of weeks.

Millie Brown

This time I'm not blaming writers block on my lack of posting I'm blaming exams and my damn laptop keyboard! I'm not even going to get into it but I'm getting it fixed soon so i should be back on track with blogging in the next couple of weeks. I've also found that's it making me extremely cyber-lazy because I'd rather leave replying to an email for another day rather than putting up with my keyboard, which isn't good, but I've come to the conclusion that I'll just have to blog from from my iPhone in the mean time. How and ever, I'm finished my exams... Which means it's summer! I've lots of ideas in mind for July and August, some really exciting shoots are already planned including a shoot in London in July!
Recently I came across a different type of performance artist. Her name is Millie Brown and she vomits on a canvas for a living. Interesting.... I first came across Millie at The Monster Ball, Godga's recent worldwide tour. She appeared in an interlude entitled "Puke on Gaga" shot by Nick Knight and Ruth Hogben. It's one of my favourite interludes from her concert and it features Millie puking on Lady Gaga in a plated White Marko Mitanovski dress.
After a friend recently showed me a video of Millie drinking coloured milk and making herself vomit it back up onto a blank canvas during a live performance for SHOWstudio.com I instantly remembered her from the interlude at The Monster Ball.
I did some research on the girl and found a couple of live performance clips and finished pieces from Millie herself. Nothing turns my stomach, so this to me is art but others may think its just pure vulgar.
Also The fact that she wears heels whilst regurgitating makes it freakishly sexy, making me strangely wanting to watch it again and again.

What do you think? Revolting or strangely artistic?

Check out ''Puke on Gaga'' and ''Nexus Vomitus'' below.

Daphne Groeneveld

This girl is fucking striking! I first came across Daphne on models.com and Fashion TV a couple of months back and thought nothing of her but after seeing her latest spread in this summers I-D mag I've officially become obsessed. Daphne is 16 and from the Netherlands. She is currently signed with Women in Paris and Milan, Supreme in New York, and Union in London. Since really coming onto the scene in late 2010 after appearing on the front cover of Vogue Paris she has walked for the likes of Chanel and Calvin Klein, as well as one of my favourite collections from A/W 2011, "Battle For The Sun" by Viktor & Rolf. With an amazing editorial and front cover of this summers I-D magazine shot by Daniel Jackson, big things await for this young girl.

Better Fashion Week - Wednesday 18/05/: Industry Talk

Tonight I headed along to the "Better Fashion Week" launch night, starting off with an Industry talk by top designers Eilis Boyle, Andrea Crews and Joanne Hynes as well as top Irish freelance fashion stylist Aisling Farinella.
The talk got off to a great start after an overwhelming, unexpected turn out. Throughout the evening the floor was opened for any questions as well as debates and discussions about the industry and the theatre of fashion including talks about the roles they play in the industry and the different experiences both the designers and the stylist had gone through to get were they are today.
Throughout the evening Joanne Hynes discussed about how her emotions and her character effect her collections. She mentioned that her work is inspired by her feelings and that she creates better pieces when she is going through an emotional stage of either depression or happiness.
Andrea crews chatted about her favourite medium for advertising and promoting her collections. She mentioned that working on a fashion show is a big thing! She loves the energy and the intensity and it's her favourite medium for showing off her collections. She went on to say that during a fashion show she is the designer and she can take control. She referred to photography as a "boring" medium because she likes to capture the story line of her collection in an energetic and atmospheric way so therefore prefers to turn to shows and fashion film to show off her work. Ellis backed up the medium by stating that clothes may not last forever but an image will. Andreas also mentioned that she is inspired by culture and landscape following a question about where she gets her inspiration from when working internationally.
Aisling Ferinella mentioned during the evening that, to her, Paris seems like the centre of fashion. She spoke about how, in her opinion, Paris is all about the fashion, as a show in Paris seems more "fashion fashion" as to a show in London.
Joanne Hynes talked about how she developed her skill in finding inspiration. She spoke about her difficult college assignments and that how challenging her in by giving her an assignment such as to get inspiration from the corner of a room or from what's on a table gave her the strength to develop a way of searching for inspiration. She also mentioned that sometimes she is inspired by accident.
Following a question about the build up in creating a collection Andreas talked about how she is inspired as she goes along, she said that sometimes the medium can give you the fabric and the fabric can give you the colour which soon develops into a style for the collection. It was also mentioned that colour naturally attracts you to photographs and by simply adding something bright to a boring image can give it that "wow" but can be taken very literal such as bright coloured make-up.
Social media opinions was yet another topic on the plate for the evening. they mentioned about how an opinion can effect a designer and that people don't appreciate the hard work and skill that goes into creating a garment. "We value the comments and we shouldn't because it damages the industry" is what fashion designer Ellis Boyle had to say about the topic. Although many people don't know much about the craft they should have there right to an opinion, was an argument against the statement made by Ellis.

Overall, the night was interesting and informative and I hope to get my head in again to another part of "Better Fashion Week" throughout the next 4 days.

http://www.betterfashionweek.com/

Lady Gaga - Judas Fashion

Finally, time to write a blog post! I haven't neglected my blog, I've just been simply too busy to post lately. With exams around the corner and a pile of work to get finished and released time is gold dust at the moment. Luckily, I've taken some time out to write about Lady Gaga's latest new music video for her brand new single Judas before it gets outdated with yet another music video by the genius herself!
The genius herself transforms yet another one of her phenomenal metaphorical visions into a 5 minute music video. At the beginning of the video gaga wears a Mary Magdalene custom created crown by Marianna Harutunian teamed with a Mugler purple catsuit and matching gloves along with a cape created just for Gaga by Perry Meek @ Haus of Gaga as well as heart shaped sun glasses, she completes the outfit with jewelry by Erickson Beamon and nail jewelry by Aya Fukuda.
In the second part of the video Gaga wears a deep red velvet bra and pants by Perry Meek @ Haus Of Gaga along with a matching coloured skirt by Raquel Allegra and boots by "Shoes For The Stars." Following that Gaga wears an outfit by Christian Lacroix followed by a leather "Perfecto" jacket by Schott, bra and pants by Haus of Gaga, boots by Alexander Mc Queen and tights by Capezio.
A blue leather outfit designed by Alex Noble is worn by Gaga along with an olive green catsuit and head piece created by... yet again, Perry Meek @ Haus Of Gaga teamed with a red faux fur that she wears over her shoulder created by Adrienne Landau along with a cross ring by "The Dragon Lady" and a lipstick gun by Haus Of Gaga.
Mid-way through the video Gaga is seen wearing a long gold dress designed by Sally Lapointe teamed with jewels by Erickson Beamon followed by a velvet top by Perry Meek @ Haus Of Gaga and gold bracelet by Versace.
Finally, to end the video Gaga wears a wedding dress by Christian Lacroix alongside a crown by Erik Halley and gloves by Lacrasia, she also wears "creeper" style shoes by underground while getting stoned to death.

I wonder what's next for Gaga in her forthcoming music video for her new track "The Edge Of Glory?"
If you haven't already, check out her brand new promo track "Hair" that she released on iTunes today as part of the iTunes countdown for her brand new record "Born This Way." Kate Middleton and Prince William took to the alter at 11am (London time) on Friday April 29th after thousands of Royal fans and "proud to be British" lined the streets outside Buckingham Palace and around Central London. The big question on the day for most people was "What will she wear?"
As the ceremony began live on British Television and across the world people were "wowed" by the simplicity of Kate's dress. The elegant white gown which had carefully crafted detailed lace sleeves and neckline was created especially for Kate by Alexander Mc Queen's creative directer, Sarah Burton. Alongside the dress, Kate also wore a beautifully crafted veil trimmed with hand-embroidered flowers embroidered by the Royal School Of Needlework. The veil is held in place by a delicate "halo" tiara lent to Kate by The Queen. Pippa Middleton, Kate's sister (who also wore a specially crafted dress by Sarah Burton), held the trail of Kate's wedding gown as she walked up the idle of Westminster Abbey (which supposedly took her 4 minutes!) alongside her Father, Michael. Many people have commented on Kate's dress stating that she wore a "stunning" dress without showing off.
If it wasn't the brides dress the crowed was "wowed" about it was the celebrity guests. Tara Palmer-Tomkinson arrived to Westminster Abbey in an "eye-popping" electric blue dress by British fashion designer Deborah Milner along with a matching hat carefully crafted by Philip Treacy and matching shoes by Nicholas Kirkwood. Although she reminded me slightly of a power ranger and looked like she was wearing a slipper on her head, this outfit did it for me and was one of my favourites on the day.
Finally, David & Victoria Beckham were the one's who "wowed" me the most at the wedding. David arrived at Westminster Abbey on Friday morning wearing a very smart Ralph Lauren morning suit alongside a top hat created by Philip Treacy on top of a slick, stylist, Don Draper inspired hairstyle. Although there was a slight outfit error when it was noticed that his OBE medal was pinned on the wrong side of his chest (not that it really matters, in my opinion.). Some of which I've followed up since day one that have learned me more about photography, lighting and working with models as well as introducing me to the fashion industry by teaching me more about the big names in the industry and learning me the tricks of the trade.
One of my favourites is Melissa Rodwells blog, "The Fashion Photography Blog." What a great title, aye? The Fashion Photography Blog isn't so great for newbie tog's wanting to learn the basics but more of an advanced blog for photographers who want to learn more advanced techniques and get to know some of the tricks in the book. Melissa Rodwell is an LA/New York based pro photographer who's work has been published in the likes of Harpers Bazaar and Playboy to name but a few. Her tips, skills, and techniques are a definite "must-have" to become successful in the industry. My favourite addition to the blog is Melissa's "behind the scenes" videos from some of her big editorial photoshoots worldwide. I think it's great to see the process behind someone else's publications and see how a top photographer works on a big photoshoot as well as learning from their set-up and techniques that they use on set.
Another of my top favourites is "Thunder + Threads." Leanne Woodfull's "punk" style and love for everything vintage has inspired me greatly since being introduced to her blog late last year after being in a fit of "lols" from watching her most popular YouTube vlog video "I hate..." Leanne blogs about just about anything that has the word "fashion" or "glamour" in it. Her reports on collections and reviews on the latest trends are phenomenal as well as her major hauls and monthly favourites. Leanne is definitely one to watch as she will definitely be hitting the fashion industry by storm in the next couple of years.
Style.com is yet another one of my favourite fashion websites. Its convenient "quick links" that lets you search by designer, model or celebrity is life saving. It's also a great place to check out the latest trends and styles as well as watch the latest shows by all the top designers. Not to mention the website is one of the first to hear about all the latest news in the fashion industry.
Another of my favourite fashion websites is models.com. The site is fantastic for all things fashion. You can search by model, photographer, editor, casting director, prop stylist, and many more... You can learn just about everything about your favourite people in the industry as well as finding out who's "up there" in the models.com ranking lists. My favourite thing about this site is that you could spend hours browsing and learning about interesting people in fashion.
Finally, loobook.nu is my favourite source for inspiring fashion trends. The website is great when putting mood boards together for an upcoming photoshoot as the site is filled with just about every style. Whether a shoot is based on a vintage concept, or a rock 'n' roll style, I always find myself raiding the site for styling ideas. Lookbook is also great for personal style ideas when you're in need of a wardrobe revamp. I'm also thinking of creating a Lookbook account soon so watch this space!
Check out the links to all the blogs/websites below. They're definitely my top 5 blogs and websites that shape the way my work is created and help me create a unique style for myself. Some other blogs/websites that I'm still getting to grips with are Polyvore, fashion.net, paraniv.no and Fashion Gone Rogue, but that's another days work.

The Fashion Photography Blog (Melissa Rodwell):
http://www.fashionphotographyblog.com/

Thunder + Threads (Leanne Woodfull):
http://thunderandthreads.blogspot.com/
http://www.youtube.com/user/leannewoodfull

Style:
http://www.style.com/

Models:
http://models.com/

Lookbook
http://lookbook.nu/

R.I.P. Premier model management is a model agency based in London that cares and promotes for top models such as Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, Claudia Schiffer and Linda Evangelista. The series opens the doors to the popular agency and gives an inside look at what goes on behind the scenes during the busiest months of the year, show season. As well as documenting the day-to-day lifes of top model agents as they nurture for prominent models to make there careers a success.
Since the night it hit our screens on Channel 4, social media have gone nuts for the brand new series which is the main cause of me being hooked.
Caroles close friends also represent many of the models in the agency, as well as her daughter, Sissy. From reading a recent interview in the "Irish News Of The World" magazine "Fabulous," I found that it's a love hate relationship between Sissy and her mother. Sissy states in the interview "I have to SHARE MY MUM with my work colleagues" which she doesn't particularly like. She continues to say that having Carole as her mother in school was "cool" but she hated her mother being busy all hours and found it upsetting that all her mother cared about was work. Sissy then explains that she calls her mum "Carole" while working as it's more professional and that she feels awkward when her fellow colleagues "bitch" about Carole and call her "The Witch" when she is in the room. She goes on to talk about her sister Simone who worked in the agency with Carole and Chris for 6 months and hated it because Carole was so "vile" to her so she left the agency and left for the countryside.
Carole also spoke to "Fabulous" magazine saying "I'm HARDER ON MY DAUGHTER than anyone else" and explains how stressful the job is on her and Sissy. She says she fights with Sissy all the time but they're "best friends" and says that she doesn't want her daughter Sissy taking over Premier models because it is a very stressful job running a company and booking models, "she probably wants an easier life," said Carole.
The agency also consists of many other agents including Annie, the head of future faces. Annette, the commerical booker and Sadaf, the mens editorial booker.
Catch up with "The Model Agency" now on 4oD online and the final episode of the series tomorrow @ 10pm on Channel 4.

http://www.themodelagency.tv/

Most influential people in the industry, so far....

Whether it be photographers, models, or designers I have my favourites already. Watching FTV's focus on in my spare time I've developed admiration for varies models, photographers and designers in the industry since really taking a leap in January. So lets get straight into it...
I don't worship top photographers such as Rankin like people may think. I do have a love for Nick Knights work and some other top photographers in the industry but I find myself taking a fancy for work by well known, but not famous photographers. Work by the likes of German Collins and Elliot Morgan, not to mention Kesler Tran from LA, all "sort of" represent a particular style as such. A style that really inspires me but never portrays in my final images. I think I have a problem of dissing colour, when the colour is in the image I find it really hard to let it all go and create a more neutral look to the shot, even when it's for the best. Maybe that's just my style of photography?
Moving on to models... ever since I seen the post "Is Karlie Kloss The New Kate Moss?" on Leanne Woodfull's popular blog "Thunder + Threads," I fell in love with Ms Kloss. I don't know how many times I've seen "focus on: Karlie Kloss" on fashion TV but every time I watch it I instantly get stuck into the TV (and internet comas are the reason for that not happening often). She reminds me of a completely blank canvas that you can paint on to create any type of person. In each and every runway show that I've seen her in, she looks striking no matter what the theme. She reminds me of the "mammy" of the runway and I see her as the mother model, is that creepy? Brazilian model Francisco Lachowski is another one of my favourites. He's only been modelling since 2008 and certainly has one hell of a career ahead of him! He's represented worldwide by a number of different agencies such a FORD in New York and Paris, Bravo in Tokyo, and Why Not in Milan and has been published in tons of magazines such as Vanity Teen, Out Magazine, Vogue Hommes Japan, and not to mention being on "The Fashionisto" website a number of times. He has also walked for many top designers and has done advertising work for DKNY, Beneton, and Armani Exchange to mention but a few. Definitely a rising star in the making and one of my favourites to date. Last but not least, Freja Beha Erichsen. This girls fierce look makes her one of my favourites, she reminds me of Kristen Stewart a little. She is signed to IMG in New York, London, Paris, and Milan, and her striking look has even got her published in American Vogue twice. She has also been on the cover of I-D mag as well as Vogue Italia, Brazil, Korea, Japan, and British Vogue. She has also walked for designers such as Gareth Pugh and Tom Ford!
On to designers... Alexander McQueen and Gareth Pugh are of course top of my list but designers such as Atsuko Kudo and their edgy latex is definitely one of my favs. Atsuko Kudo collaborated with Tierry Mugler in his latest collection that involved a bit of Gaga on the runway as well as designing couture latex for Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga a number of times. Viktor and Rolf also did it for me with their latest collection "Battle for the sun" that you can check out below.
On the other hand, I just found out that I'll be heading over to London in July. Exciting stuff! I already have shoots planned that I cannot wait for! Will also try and see can I do a few tests for agencies while I'm over there. Worth a try

Is processing really that important?

I'm one of those people that love a shot so much that I spend hours in photoshop with it and then when I view the final product I hate the shot because of a stupid processing fault that no one will ever notice, but me. Sometimes I wish processing never existed and the best shots were down to the photographers technical abilities, but that isn't the case and not to mention 99.9% of photographers use photoshop in some shape or form to tweak there shots and although there are no rules or restrictions to a persons creativity within photoshop there are a bunch of "no no's," especially in fashion/portrait photography. I'm no pro with photoshop, nor at photography, but from reading blog posts and from a couple of years of photoshop experience I know the difference between "cool" and "tacky."
During last week I was in contact with "RedTigerLily" on Flickr who asked me about my processing in photoshop. She was curious to know how long exactly it takes me to fully edit and complete one good portfolio shot and what exactly the time is spent on. She also wanted to know was processing really that important and should she dive right into photoshop now and get the best out of her shots? The answer is... yes, and no.
I'm sure if you want to get published in Vogue, or national geographic (if that's your thing) then there must be some sort of processing involved. Whether it be airbrushing or colour correction, there must be much more to it. Not really. I'm not going to lie, I've never heard of a photographer that has had an editorial in a magazine such as Vogue and all the shots were sooc, yet there probably has been. If you get the technical stuff right and there is a good enough make-up artist on hand then most likely you will get a stunning sooc shot. A lot of photographers think, "why put in the effort when it can be done in photoshop?" Which is true, but you're not a photographer then, right? You're a photoshopographer. Sometimes I wonder why it has took me so little time to process a shot in photoshop, it feels "un-done" in a way but maybe I got everything spot on during the photoshoot but I still look back and think the shot is not a portfolio worth shot because of the little effort I put in in photoshop. What I'm trying to get to here is: Only use photoshop if you really have to and if you really have to then take your time and do it properly. Don't turn yourself into a photoshopographer by taking a picture in your bedroom and turning it into Buckingham Palace. Put the effort in during the shoot and fix the flaws in photoshop.
When I say "flaws" I mean the pimples and blemishes that would improve your shot if they weren't there. DON'T TURN HIM/HER TO PLASTIC, no need. Adding tones can improve your shot and it might be the effect you're after but over-saturation is a definite "no no" as well as changing the hue and all that "tacky shannable." There is a time and place for those you might regard as "cool effects," but leave them out of your portfolio work unless you want to be regarded as a photoshopographer of course.
Processing is important if you want to get the best out of the shot you love but when you can do it on the shoot then all the better. Stick to the basics, colour correction is all you need to know besides using the (spot) healing and related tools. Focus on your technical and creative abilities during your shoot rather than relying on photoshop to do it for you. The basics is all you need to know to process a shot while still being regarded as a "photographer." Don't turn a perfectly good shot into something from star wars. Leave the "cool effects" to the photoshopographers and take your time.

Viktor & Rolf - Autumn/Winter collection 2011 - "Battle For The Sun."

Viktor and Rolf sent red-faced models (literally) marching down the runway at their latest show during Paris fashion week on Saturday March 5th to showcase their brand new Autumn/Winter collection for 2011. Their brand new innovative collection includes lots of pleats and spirals and other geometrical shapes in black, red, white and silver. The powerful collection combines romance with domination with it's edgy, aggressive imagery in it's army-like show. Last Wednesday afternoon I hopped on the bus and took some shots with French model Anais Sheena in Fairview. Besides stepping in dog poo and there being a slight drizzle the shoot went fairly OK. Anais's friend, Audrey, did make-up on the day which slightly turned into a laughing matter when we used a bottle of water and some eyeliner to get the "smelly depressed teenager look."

On Friday I was asked to take some shots of model Margaret as part of Ciara M's make-up portfolio. I'm no studio light expert myself so we had to compromise on the look Ciara was after (I should really read more of the strobist blog). Luckily we got some excellent shots on the day, fitting in 3 different make-up looks into half a day in Brickwall studios in Kimmage (that have a fan that I stood in front of for most of the day...YES!). It was great meeting Ciara and Margaret and I'm hoping to do some more shoots with Ciara soon!

On Sunday, (after waking up late because my damn iphone alarm didn't go off >:() I headed to delook studios on gardiner street to shoot a long awaited photoshoot with model Joy Jaimun and make-up artist Claire Leontia. I loved working with Joy, and Claire once again. After having some trouble with the cat suit outfit Joy originally bought for the shoot Joy made her boyfriend go hunt for some leather leggings around town while Claire did Joy's hair and make-up, which he finally got and worked perfect for the shoot! The leather leggings, along with a black velvet strapless top and grey blazer (not forgetting the long nails) came together nicely for Joys outfit. I tried different techniques with the lighting but settled on only using only the main light with softbox to the left of Joy along with a rim light behind and to the right of Joy with barn doors on a white background without background lights to achieve a more grey look to it. Later on that afternoon I headed home to see what I'd gotten, a lot of the shots were very underexposed and as a result of underexposure the shots came out very soft. Luckily I shot in raw so that could be fixed. With the good comes the bad though.. and the shots were pretty grainy after increasing the brightness in RAW. Although overall we got some pretty good shots that I'm happy with. Next time I'll be sure to bring up the power a little more on the lights. I'm blaming my cameras screen for that problem though, the shots always look perfect until I put them on the computer. That's always the way...

In other news, I'm hoping to get a new camera soon, I could trade my body and kit lens along with my sigma 70-300mm zoom lens to get a 50D body along with my 50mm 1.4 or I could hang on a little while and get a 5D next year. A lot of people have been telling me to go with the 5D but I don't think I'll put all the benefits of the 5D to use in what I'm shooting at the moment. Tell me what you think.. (I'd honestly prefer a trip to NYC).

Also, I'm hoping to get my blog up and running and more active so not only will I be blogging about photoshoots but will be blogging more about general photography and some fashion finds.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; We booked into the bridal suite of the brooke hotel on Drurys street and got straight down to business with hair and make-up before hitting the streets to take some shots.
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-siaT6KZ6ENM/TWFqVxJlKyI/AAAAAAAAAFw/QnJp4gqn7_o/s1600/martha3copyright.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; Firstly, we headed straight for Grafton Street and I tried my best to achieve a multiple exposure shot of Martha in the middle of the street but the focus on my 50mm 1.4 let me down and when I loaded them onto the computer that night they weren't all that I expected.
Afterwards, we headed down the road and took some shots along Glovers alley were the flash came to use. Claire helped me out by holding the flash to the right of Martha and bounced it off the silver reflector.
We then risked working our way down to Cuffe street in the horrible weather after sheltering for around 15 minutes to wait for the rain to ease off. Luckily, we got some great head shots along the street and then took some snaps on the way back to the hotel.
It was late evening time before we got back to the room. Claire then turned Martha into a (glamorous) clown and we tried some shots in the hotel room. Nothing spectacular was working out so we checked out and took some street snaps down along Grafton Street and throughout Temple Bar.
We got some great shots on the day and some definite portfolio pieces. Thanks so much to Martha and Claire for a great day! I'll be working with Claire once again on an upcoming piece...

On Sunday afternoon I met up with Make-up artist Emma Mitchell and after having a coffee in Starbucks with Emma and model Maria Anastacia Keogh along with her friend Eimer, and Eimers friend Katie we headed to Trinity college to do make-up were we then got some great shots throughout the grounds of the college. Before it got too late rambled down to the St Stephans Green area and got some great shots before calling it a day. It was amazing working with both Emma and Maria Anastacia, not to mention her amazing friend Eimer and Eimers friend Katie! Chloe became a pyro for 20 minutes as we shot down a dodgy lane way just off Georges street with a flame and a bottle of hairspray after getting some snaps around temple bar and on dame street just after sunrise. Not long after we popped into Powerscourt centre and took some shots on the stairs before Chloe popped down the road to college and I went home to begin the processing. Only using natural light really paid off when I got a great shot of Chloe that morning.

On Sunday I joined the rest of the lads at Dublin Strobist and popped along to the meet up in an abandoned 5 storey Georgian house on North Great Georges Street, Dublin 1. The location was amazing! Minus it being freezing and there being holes in the ceiling. Throughout the day myself and a couple of other photographers from the Strobist team shot numerous models, including... Anne Marie Donovan, Ricky Mangala, Kayleigh, Tatiana, Lisa Grogan, and Doraine P. Stephan Cronin was the hairstylist for the day, Ozaro Azams put together the amazing outfits as wardrobe stylist, and Caitriona, Kerry and Daria did the models make-up.
<h4 style="color: #2e2d2a; In the recording it's clear that Gaga has had enough before the shot had even started. She stands there looking confused and infuriated as Markus and Indrani bicker on with each other because there ideas clash. From viewing the final shots on Markus and Indrani's website, I found them to be pretty amazing, but technically the photoshoot didn't go so well.

So.. does the relationship the photographer(s) have with the model really depict the finished product?

Check out the "behind the scenes" video of the Lady Gaga photoshoot below.
